8. Development of permanent DIAL facilities
The DIAL facilities produced as part of this feasibility study were
only intended to be, and are, a prototype to demonstrate the types of
facilities which could be developed. As explained in Chapter 1, the terms of
reference require this Report to make recommendations on the appropriate role
for the Bank and other parties to play in the long-term development of
facilities such as DIAL.
In previous Chapters, recommendations have been made that development
of a permanent DIAL facility should proceed based on the interaction between
DIAL Index and DIAL Search that has been demonstrated by the DIAL prototype.
Recommendations have also been made concerning the need for training of key DMC
users, and concerning the DIALogue facility. The cost estimates in this Chapter
are based on the implementation of those recommendations.
